IQF Papaya dices
Papayas are also known as pawpaw or tree melon. Their weight can vary from moderate to very large 1kg. Ripe fruit has a thin yellowed skin, very soft and sweet flesh. They are fairly regarded for their iron, calcium, ascorbic acid and vitamin A, B and G content. They are mostly eaten as peeled and cut into wedges. Firm ones are also baked as a vegetable. Papaya purees and pulps are being used in beverages, custards and pies. Quick frozen, sugar coated dices are a dessert by themselves. Slightly immature fruits are eaten as sweetmeat after crystallization. Due to low shelf life of fresh fruit, their frozen cubes are becoming more popular in modern times. Semi ripened papayas are harvested, transported to plant, inspected and washed before entering natural ripening chambers; then washed peeled, deseeded, sterilizer and finally diced. All the packaging material is also fully sterilized.
