Chick peas are a great source of amino acids and rank high in relative nutritive value. They are commonly consumed as dry pulse. The seeds are mostly propertied in carbohydrates, and little protein and fat. Apart from human consumption, chick peas have shown to be a very good source of protein among livestock. Their quality and size is better if grown in cooler climates. They are eaten as sprouts after soaking, parched, roasted, fried, boiled or grounded as flour.
